IN THE FIRST SUMMER OF THE WAR HE WAS granted HIS FIRST field of study COMMAND IN WESTERN VIRGINIA.GENERAL LEE WAS A SUCCESS OF THE ENTIRE ITALIN CAMPAINGN TURNED UPON THE SUCCESSFUL PASSAGE OF THE duad OF LODI.THEY STRAGGERD UNDER THE WITHERING FIRE AND RETREATED BUT THE FAILURE WAS malign AND THE PAST MUST BE WON. BEFORE THE MEXICAN WAR ROBERT HAD SERVED ON ENGINEERING SOME PROJECTS IN GEORGIA, VIRGINIA, AND NEW YORK. ROBERT HAD GRADULLY BECAME UNCLE ROBERT AND MARSE ROBERT. ON APR IL 18 , 1861 ROBERT WAS OFFERED FIELD COMMAND OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY.
