He was born in capital of the United Kingdom in 1899 and died in 1960, just three years after he immigra ted to Australia and produce his novel On the Beach. This is one of his nearly well cognise novels. Nevil Shutes novels were divided into three categories; Prewar; war; and Australia. Each one of the novels was about one of these things, scarce entirely were fiction. (Self p.4) The novel On the Beach falls into the Australian category, but is also about war. Nevil Shute died at the age of sixty in 1960 before the approach of Intercontinental Ballistic rockets (ICBMs), and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
